I used to be the greatest of chowder naysayers that at any point did live. When I was close to nothing, my kin would go wild over the shellfish chowder-in-a-bread-bowl circumstance, particularly when we visited San Francisco. I couldn't for the life of me make sense of why the stuff turned my stomach in tangles… until…

Streak forward a few decades, and come to discover it was on the grounds that the cream and gluten substance of the soup made me feel like Punnany McGeester. A lot of cream and gluten for this young lady = fuss = terrible mind-set juju. Indeed, even the scarcest murmur of, "choooowdaaaaah" destroyed destruction on my stomach related tract.

A couple of years back, one of my siblings began making his own shellfish chowder, complete with bacon and potatoes for generous magnificence, yet with a more slender (not roux-based) consistency and less cream. Not exclusively might I be able to make the most of his hand crafted shellfish chowder without inclination wiped out, yet it motivated me to work my own enchantment in the substitutions division. In no way like an elder sibling to attract you a guide to the Eightfold Path of Chowder Enlightenment.
